Looking to do something with those pumpkins left over from Halloween? Here's a fun and easy way to make unique pumpkin vases.
Materials:
1 small-medium pumpkin
pumpkin carving knife
1 glass jar
small bouquet of fresh or artificial flowers
Procedure:
1. Cut a hole around the pumpkin stem, big enough to fit the glass jar.
2. Clean all seeds and pulp from the inside of the pumpkin.
3. Place the glass jar in the pumpkin.
4. If you are using fresh flowers, fill glass jar 1/4 to 1/2 way with water. (Skip this step with artificial flowers.)
5. Trim flowers to fit into the jar and arrange as desired.
I love fresh flowers, but our wildflowers are almost on their way out for the season. Fall artificial flower arrangements were already on clearance to make way for Christmas/Hanukkah decorations, and I just couldn't pass up the deal.
Whether you use fresh or artificial flowers, you still end up with interesting autumn decor or a conversation starter Thanksgiving centerpiece.
